La Vue Grenache Rosé 2015

Region: Swan Hill, Victoria
Varietal: 95% Grenache, 5% Shiraz
Alcohol: 14%
Best Consumed: 2015 - 2017

The Grenache Rose has a beautiful pastel pink hue wich alludes to the delicacy of the wine.  The Nose shows lovely perfumed aromas of fresh rose petals and ripe strawberries teamed with wonderful fruit intensity on the palate.

Viticulturist Notes

Fruit for the Grenache Rose was harvested from our vineyards during March 2015.  The juice was run off the skins early, in order to extract only the perfect amount of colour and then inoculated and cool fermented.  This allowed the retention of the summer berry characters, as well as retaining colour and intensity.  Post fermentation the wine was fined, cold stabilised and filtered, ready for bottling.  The entire process from juice to bottle was less than 6 weeks, keeping the wine fresh and vivacious.

Wine Harvest Notes

As a Winemaker, the challenges that each harvest brings never cease to amaze me.  Just when you think you have an understanding of what's going on, another season hits bringing with it yet another challenge and a completely new scenario.  In 2015 we had little rain and warm tempratures, leading to fast ripening, early in the season.  Once temperatures cooled, things slowed down and we saw an increase in flavours and quality.
